‘You, Me, Them, Everybody’ with host Brandon Wetherbee stops in Philly

‘You, Me, Them, Everybody’
with host Brandon Wetherbee stopped by The Grape Room on Saturday, January 21. In front of a live studio (er, 2nd floor) audience, Wetherbee riffs about Philadelphia and other topical nuggets. Guest interviews with local author Doogie Horner, local comedian Carolyn Busa (her recent performance at The Grape Room was excellent, FYI) and The War on Drugs guitarist Robbie Bennett.

The Grape Room : For the love of Beer and Music

From readysetdate.wordpress.com:
One of the most comfortable venues I have come across. It is dimly lit by well placed dome lighting over the bar and around the perimeter of the building. Not to mention, tea lights randomly placed. (Romance anyone?)  There are also multiple paintings randomly placed  on the walls, not to mention an “out of this world” mural of the staff in outer space. This is painted on the wall the right of the bar where the stage is located.”

Thanks, Sam!

YourLocalNote.com: Supporting the Philadelphia Music Scene

The good folks at YourLocalNote.com are sponsoring this Friday’s show at The Grape Room with The Great Socio, Pawnshop Roses, Joe Duffy and The Day Life. The site has become an excellent resource for what’s happening in the Philadelphia music scene. Each week a new podcast with music and artist interviews is uploaded to the site. This weeks podcast features Anthony Caroto (Grape Room booking guy), Alberto Muñoz (The Great Socio) and Zil (Pawnshop Roses). A big ‘thank you’ goes out to founders RJ MacKay and Mike Stringer for including The Grape Room and for promoting the scene.

Band websites – need help?

I’m proud to say that we get a lot of compliments on our website. Honestly, it’s built out of frustration from dealing with so many other venues and their inefficient websites during my years as a tour manager / booking agent. But take a closer look at our site here – it’s really just a tricked out WordPress page. In fact, many people use WordPress for their businesses and /or bands.

In my opinion, using a blog service for your bands website is the way to go. I believe this because blogger sites are already tied in with SEO’s (Search Engine Optimization) and secondary sites such as Flickr and ReverbNation are easy to utilize since coding options are provided.

Does this sort of thing confuse you?

Drop me a line a we’ll set up an appointment for you to come down to the club and I’ll show you how it all works. In the end, you’ll be able to maintain a professional and functional website that best promotes your band.

It’s so easy, even a drummer can do it. :)

Manayunk is not under water

The local news, well…. they’re all about sensationalism and stuff. Truth is, only a small part of Main Street in Manayunk – way over on the other end of the strip – experienced some minor flooding. The Grape Room, and its surrounding businesses, made it through without a scratch. So come on down and enjoy some great local original music. Maybe even come down early and enjoy dinner at one of the surrounding eateries too.
