In the late ’90s and early ’00s, hard-working Philly foursome Stargazer Lily straddled the boundaries between coffee-shop folk, Khyber Pass rock-n-roll, and alternative radio pop. They called it quits in 2005 after three full-length albums, a twangy country EP (under the name Starlazer Gilly), and countless late-night, boozy performances at what was then called The Grape Street Pub. Songwriting duo Steph Hayes and Sue Rosetti continued working together as part of the Slo-Mo and Mic Wrecka ensemble, and Steph keeps plenty busy on her own, fronting The Good Problems, releasing solo material, backing up North Lawrence Midnight Singers, and hosting open mics at the recently rechristened Grape Room. But nostalgia came calling, and last weekend, Stargazer reunited for two sold-out performances at The Grape Room.
